Scent work is one of the most enjoyable ways for all dogs to spend their time as it helps to occupy and stimulate them and is essential for mental and physical health. This will be Anne Lill Kvam’s fifth trip to England to teach nose-work. She has an unusual gift, a real passion for her work, and a wonderful understanding of how dogs learn and how best to teach them. Not only has she trained dogs in search and rescue, but she has also spent two and a half years of her life training dogs and handlers to detect land mines in Angola. She uses kind, fun but efficient methods for the best results. Her innovative methods can be used both for the pet owner, the serious competitor or those involved in search and rescue. She is an entertaining and informative speaker. This weekend will cover a variety of fun nosework activities for all abilities and any level of interest. Lost items, ‘back tracking’, retrieving lost articles, systematic searches (great for those training search squares) marking behaviour (pawing / barking / sitting for example) and much, much more! Most of those attending will do so as spectators, working together in groups. Limited places are available for handlers, although training will be organised in short blocks of time for optimum learning and minimum stress. If your dog won’t retrieve, or if he doesn’t know where his nose is, don’t worry! Help will be given if necessary – or just get your dog to tell you where things are! Whether you’re a professional involved in search and rescue, a trainer looking for success in competition, an instructor looking for new fun ideas, or someone just wanting to share fun activities with your dog, why not join us for a stimulating and unforgettable few days? All work covered will be approached from a variety of angles suitable for any level of interest. Anne Lill will work with everyone together as well as splitting her time between ability groups, and our team will be available to help out.
Limited places – early booking advised
